Sand castles galore

I purchased this sand and water table in smyths toystore at the beginning of the summer in an effort to entertain the younger kids in the back garden. Its been a big hit with them since, throughout the summer and now into the autumn, whenever the rain abates.
As can be seen, its a great height and size for these pair of kids to play together with it. Even though one side is supposed to be used for water and the other for sand, invariably the two get mixed up. The children don’t mind and have loads of fun with various implements building castles and more.
Oscar and I, armed with battery powered screwdriver and drill, undertook its assembly. It was very straightforward and didnt take long to accomplish. The end product is very sturdy.
I really love the fact it comes with a lid that attaches with elastic tie-downs. Once the kids are finished their play, they securely replace the lid, all remains clean, away from neighbourhood cats and vermin and ready for next playtime.
Also included is an adjustable height umbrella. Alas with this year’s weather and lack of sunshine we haven’t had a opportunity to test that addition.
The kit came with a few play accessories: 2 bridges, small pots, shovel and boats. To be honest, my kids have preferred to use their own assorted buckets, spades etc.
Would definitely recommend it. Our kids aged from 2 to 6 years old have had great entertainment out of it for the past few months and its enduring well with just topping up of playsand from time to time.
