I Gotta Feeling

This Saturday sees myself and Oscar hitting the road to Dublin. For his fast approaching birthday we’re heading to his first evah concert in the O2. The Black Eyed Peas supported by Cheryl Cole. He can’t wait.
It is bringing back memories of the 80s and my first concerts. A crowd of us would take the train from Wicklow to Dublin to see U2, Simple Minds in Croke Park in 1985, 86 & 87 and Self Aid in the RDS in 1986. They were some wonderful days out which I’ll never forget.
Here’s me with 2 of my sisters in 1987 about to head to Simple Minds. We thought we were soooo cool
I’m really looking forward to the weekend. Should be a good show and as always it’ll be excellent to hang out with my eldest son.
Now, for old times sake, 2, 3, 4…

Hope you and Oscar have a great time. That is just a brilliant photo…and leggings are back in fashion again!

Cheers Grace. Thankfully this time around, I had the sense not to wear leggings.
Enjoy Kinsale this weekend, sounds like its going to be a brilliant one.

First ever gig was U2 in Croaker ’85, supported by an unknown REM at the time. Did Self Aid and Simple Minds (with the thunder storm) in ’86 as well. Missed ya at them all

How did we not meet, Ivan? Did you not spot me? I was wearing leggings and had mad big hair. Oh wait, it was the 80s, so did most of the population
They were excellent concerts, alright.
