On Monday Conor headed on his annual visit to Le Web and he’ll hopefully be back this evening. I’m off tomorrow with my 3 sisters and one of my brothers on my annual snowboarding sit in the snow weekend.

Its not that we wouldn’t like to do both trips together, one of the very few disadvantages of having 5 kids is that it is hassle for someone else to babysit. We are blessed with brilliant grandparents, aunts and uncles for our children who are excellent on the babysitting front, but we know its not an easy job and so don’t like to ask too often. So for now, the system of each of us heading off sans spouse works. It means we both get a break from the norm occasionally.

Its good to remember every once in a while that I’m me, not just someone’s mom and wife. I really enjoy the snowboarding weekends. Its excellent and great craic to hang out with my siblings now that we’re adults.

This year we’re heading to St Anton. It looks gorgeous and I’m hoping my brutal snowboarding skills have improved since last year. Wish me luck!

Oh say hello for me please!

I was in St Anton way back in 1967-8 and adored the place. I can still taste the wonderful rolls we had for brekkie.

Did someone mention ‘snow skills’? Nah, not me! I spent the time sitting in the snow laughing and unable to get up!

    Have fun.

    Will do, Grannymar
Sitting in the snow laughing sounds alot like what I’ll be doing.

Can’t wait to see the place, it looks fabulous from the website. Places like it seem timeless, the snow and mountains are so beautiful.

    Will hopefully get some photos.
